Enrique Penalosa, former mayor of Bogota, was inspired by the success of Jaime Lerner in Curitiba.

He wanted to build a city for people, not for cars. Investments in buses, parks, people and bicycle lanes, rather than roads, led to a remarkable transformation in Bogota.
